How to Play

Players sit on the floor in a circle. One player then goes into the centre to become the 'poor pussy cat'. The cat on hands and knees, (miaowing), goes to each person in turn, who must keep a perfectly solemn face, pat the cat on the head or back and say, 'poor pussy, poor pussy cat'. Any one who smiles or laughs while patting and talking to the cat must take its place in the centre of the circle.
